Johannes Daniel "Neil" Powell (born 28 June 1978) is a former South African rugby union player and currently the coach of the South African national rugby sevens team.

He coached the team at the 2016 Summer Olympics, where they finished third and obtained a bronze medal. Powell coached the team to a first-place finish in the 2016-17 World Rugby Sevens Series.

The Western Cape Academy of Sport is a co-operative programme of the South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee and the Department of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture.

Mission: To develop excellence in sport through the co-ordination and facilitation of services for athletes, coaches, officials and administrators in performing optimally at national and international level.

The role of WECSA: WECSA athletes compete on both the national and international stage in individual and team sports. As such, WECSA ensures that these talented athletes and their coaches receive key services that enable them to compete at an elite level.
These services are offered through specialist Sport Science interventions and accredited service providers.

The Xerox Golden Lions Rugby Union (GLRU) based in the heart of Johannesburg at the Emirates Airline Park is a proudly South African based franchise. The Xerox Golden Lions Rugby Team is a professional rugby franchise that takes part in the Currie Cup and in recent years has grown from strength to strength winning the Currie Cup in 2015. Tuks HPC

The High Performance Centre (HPC) has been in existence for 12 years, the Centre is the training ground for tomorrow’s sporting champions and the venue of choice for sports professionals and enthusiasts alike.

Boasting the delivery of 3 of the 6 medals won at the 2012 Olympic Games, with a Gold, Silver and Bronze through our Rowing “Oarsome Foursome’, Caster Semenya and Bridgitte Hartley, we are confident that we are preparing the up and coming medal winners for the 2014 Commonwealth Games and 2016 Olympic Games.

The HPC is situated on the LC de Villiers Sports Grounds. These facilities annually attract international athletes as well as local sporting bodies for training camps or specific team preparation. The HPC has become the preferred location for Team South Africa pre-departure camps, as well as the preferred centre of specialisation for a significant number of national federations.

Within the sporting environment this sporting initiative has been endorsed by several national federations who host their academies at the HPC. In addition, the TuksSport High School was created by the high performance centre (HPC) to provide high school learner athletes with a unique opportunity to live out their passion for sport in a distinctive sporting milieu. TuksSport High School distinguishes itself by offering quality education to South African and international high performance athletes, and does so within a flexible structure. The structure creates optimal training opportunities, without compromise to the academic development of the learners/athletes.

The HPC is a valuable asset, not only to the University, but also to any entry level, recreational or high performance sport enthusiasts who can make use of our sport science support

Dr Jon Patricios

Dr Patricios has been in sports medicine practice for 20 years. He is currently the Director of the Morningside Sports Medicine Unit and a sports physician at Waterfall Sports Orthopaedic Surgery in Johannesburg.

He is a Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine, the Faculty of Sports & Exercise Medicine (UK) and the International Sports Medicine Federation. He is a senior associate editor of the British Journal of Sports Medicine and Current Sports Medicine Reports (USA) and served 2 terms as President of the South African Sports Medicine Association. Jon has been team physician to school, club, provincial and international sports teams in rugby, cricket, soccer, athletics and basketball, has been member of the Cricket South Africa and SA Rugby medical committees and the Discovery Rockies Comrades Marathon Panel of experts.

He is Chief Medical Officer for the Team DiData cycling team and the Kaizer Chiefs Football Club, founder and Director of Sports Concussion South Africa, sports concussion consultant to World Rugby and serves on tribunals for the South African Institute for Drug Free Sport.

He promotes the use of safe food choices such as FUTURELIFE® which have credible manufacturing processes and are scrutinized for content.

Youth With Diabetes (YWD) is a registered non-profit organisation that was founded in 2005 by a team of healthcare professionals and teens living with diabetes. Our organisational goals include raising awareness about diabetes in children; facilitating diabetes weekend camps for all youth living with diabetes; to promote skills development within young leaders living with diabetes and to promote general healthy lifestyles to prevent diabetes.

Over the past nine years, we have expanded our weekend camps to operate in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Bloemfontein, George, Port Elizabeth, East London, Botswana and Namibia.

All of the work done by YWD runs solely on donations, fundraising and the dedication of our volunteers.

Run Walk for Life (RWFL) is a South African founded organisation, with its Head Office located in Johannesburg, South Africa.  RWFL was founded in 1983, and has been in continuous operation since.

RWFL is an exercise based program, integrated with a nutrition program (eatForLife), whose core business is the scientific exercising of sedentary, unfit and/or overweight persons.  The programme is very structured and supervised, with a strong medical foundation.

RWFL is a franchise based business, with over 120 active franchises located throughout South Africa, Australia, the United Kingdom as well as Zimbabwe and now Namibia. Membership stands at just over 32 000 members

FUTURELIFE® supply us with samples that we distribute to all our members. Nedbank Running Club

Nedbank Running Club

Social and professional road running club, with 12 Nedbank Running Clubs countrywide and over 3000 members. The Nedbank Running Clubs (NRC) were founded five years ago with the aim of attracting Nedbank employees, Nedbank clients and the general public to the sport of road running. The clubs are open to runners of all abilities and provide an easily accessible platform for like-minded people to get together and pursue a healthy lifestyle.

In addition, the NRC attracted the cream of South African runners and their consistent weekly presence on podiums around the country is evidence that the Nedbank Running Club is on the right track.

SuperSport United FC Academy

SuperSport United FC Academy

SuperSport United is a South African football club based in Pretoria that plays in the Premier Soccer League. United is known as Matsatsantsa a Pitori amongst its supporters. They usually play their home games at Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville, Pretoria.

Various youth academy teams in the SuperSport United Youth Academy, play within their respective SAFA structures. The club's youth academy is undoubtedly one of the best in the country. Some of the graduates are players like Daine Klate, Kermit Erasmus, Ronwen Williams and Kamohelo Mokotjo. They have previously been linked with English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspurs and Dutch side Feyenoord.
